Are you and your family looking for activities to help pass the dog days of Summer? Oak Canyon Nature Center is offering a Summer full of fun and educational events! Whether you decide on Nature Nights twilight walks, Cinema Under the Stars, or The O.A.K.S Summer Day Camp you can expect an eventful Summer!
Join the Oak Canyon Nature Center weekend mornings for an hour long, naturalist-led hike through Oak Canyon and live animal demonstration themed to the Canyon’s plants, animals, history, ecology, and more!
Cinema Under the Stars begins in the outdoor amphitheatre with a twilight walk at 7:30 p.m. led by staff naturalists, followed by the feature presentation at 8:00 p.m. Blankets and jackets are recommended. Folding chairs are welcome. A $5.00 donation per family is suggested.
The O.A.K.S Day Camp program, for ages 5-12 consists of nine week long sessions each emphasizing a different session. Sessions run Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Children are divided into four groups depending on their age. Each day the groups are rotated through four activity stations Art, Nature, Games, and Native American Traditions.
